Edskills Language School mainly provides English classes for adults who are 18 or older. We do not accept any students under the age of 16 on any of our courses and do not provide 24-hour supervision. However, we do welcome students who are age 16+ to study in language classes with adults.
The UK Law classifies all individuals under the age of 18 as children. If you are a student who is 16-18 years old and wish to study with us, then there are a few extra steps that need to be completed to ensure your safety and wellbeing during your time with us.
Students will be in an adult environment when they are in class and when they are out of class. All of our staff at Edskills Language School are Enhanced DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service), and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students under the age of 18, all staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
Under 18 students will not be supervised while travelling from their accommodation to the school and back every day. They will need to check in at the school every morning and with their homestay host every evening. Outside of scheduled classes and EDSkills organised social programme activities, students will have free time which is not supervised or monitored by the school.
